The Cass County Office of Emergency Management and the Cass County Drain Commissioner has extended the No-Wake Advisory from Tuesday August 23rd through Thursday, September 1, 2016. They are asking boaters to continue to refrain from causing wakes while enjoying the lake.
Many Cass County Michigan lakes and streams continue to be at extremely high and hazardous levels. The level of Diamond Lake has not gone down and there is more rain in the forecast this week.
With extremely high lake levels, wakes will cause shoreline damage, docks and boats to become unattached or shift on their boat lift causing damage and dangerous floating obstacles.
Be mindful of children standing on seawalls if large waves are approaching your shoreline.
It is very important that you notify all of your guests or renters who may be using motorized boats or personal watercraft(s) of the date extension.
The DLA would like to thank everyone who has been respectful of the advisory.
The Marine Division of the Cass County Sheriff’s office will be monitoring and enforcing this advisory.
